Celebrating Success: Holmans’ Support for Sunshine Coast Wanderers Football Club

Sunshine Coast Wanderers: Triumph, Unity, Community

As the 2023 football season drew to a close, the Sunshine Coast Wanderers Football Club (SCW) emerged as a South East Qld powerhouse, displaying remarkable prowess and resilience on the field. Among their admirable achievements, their outstanding performance in the Grand Finals of the FQ Academy League 2 held at Imperial Corp Stadium in Brisbane recently.

Competing in a league where the some of the best teams from the Southeast Queensland (SEQ) region converge, the SCW demonstrated their mettle by securing significant victories. Notably, four out of their five boys’ teams managed to clinch spots in the Grand Finals, with three of them emerging victorious. The extraordinary achievements of the teams have not only brought well-deserved recognition to the club but have also amplified the footballing spirit within the Sunshine Coast community.

Despite their remarkable success, the club remains humble, maintaining a focus on the club values of Respect, Integrity and Team Work. As a result, SCW continues to serve as an exemplary model for aspiring young footballers in the region, both technically and in their journey to becoming young adults.

While the boys’ teams took the spotlight with their impressive wins, the girls’ teams also put up a commendable fight, demonstrating skill and dedication in their matches, even though they narrowly missed out on securing titles during the semi-finals and the Grand Final campaigns.

Holmans, a trusted local firm known for its commitment to the community, proudly stood as Silver Sponsors of the Sunshine Coast Wanderers Football Club this year (& minor sponsor last year). The partnership between Holmans and SCW reflects our shared values. Holmans were happy to contribute to a club that is so heavily reliant on local business support and volunteers. It was pleasing to see the hard work of those volunteers pay off with such a successful season.

The SCW’s U14 team, emerged as champions of the Grand Final on the 14th of October, marking a moment of pride for the excited parents and SCW community that had made the trek to watch. Their second-place finish on the table further solidified their position as a team to watch in future seasons.

The support of sponsors like Holmans, Mitre 10, Brightwater Hotel, Ken Mills Toyota, Bebrock Excavations, Jetts, Food Buzz, MacKeller and many other local community businesses ( click here for a complete list of sponsors) has been instrumental in enabling the Sunshine Coast Wanderers Football Club to foster a culture of sports excellence and community engagement.

As we look back on the remarkable achievements of the Sunshine Coast Wanderers Football Club in the 2023 season, we celebrate not only their victories on the field but also their unwavering spirit and dedication to the beautiful game. Well done teams and SCW.

With the ongoing support of sponsors, the SCW can continue to pave the way for a vibrant sporting culture, inspiring generations of young athletes to pursue their passion for football and embody the values of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
